Ploughshare licenses vaccine technology to Defyrus
Ploughshare Innovations and Defyrus Inc. announced the signing of an exclusive, worldwide license to a MOD patent portfolio that will underpin the development of a pan alpha virus vaccine. Alpha-viral infections may result from bioterrorism or endemic disease and these highly infectious, mosquito-borne encephalitis viruses pose a serious risk to people and livestock.
Both organisations plan to expand their commercial interaction in 2009 to include preclinical safety and efficacy studies as part of the Company’s vaccine development programmes - further details.

Ploughshare secures DIUS funding
Ploughshare Innovations, Dstl and the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) secure funds from the DIUS's Public Sector Research Exploitation Fund-Four. The monies will support the commercialisation of AWE's MoD technologies. Ploughshare and Dstl also supported further winning bids into the DIUS scheme- further details.

Ploughshare contributes to InterAct Partnership Annual Report
Ploughshare, on behalf of Dstl, submitted the 2006-07 InterAct Partnership Annual Report to the DIUS at the end of October. The report noted that InterAct, which is PSRE Round 2 funded partnership between CSL, Dstl, HPA and VLA, has now met or exceeded all of its milestones and highlighted a further nine exploitation sucesses.
