Ploughshare Innovations secures £450,000 funding for expansion of its commercialisation activities.

Ploughshare Innovations, Dstl’s technology transfer company, has been successful in securing funding of £450,000 through the third round of the Office of Science and Technology’s Public Sector Research Exploitation Fund, which was set up to enable public sector research establishments (PSREs) to develop their capacity to exploit their science and technology potential.

The award allow Ploughshare to expand the commercial exploitation of Dstl technology, which cover a range of areas from telecommunications to diagnostics, by partnering with regional Universities and technology commercialisation companies. Ploughshare will deliver commercially attractive licence deals and profitable investment opportunities throughout the UK.

The Commercialisation Manager for Ploughshare Innovation, commented:  

Securing this award will ensure that PSRE technology will be more widely and more effectively exploited. The funds will allow Ploughshare to work closely with our regional partners to identify and develop first-rate technology opportunities. Technology developed at public expense will be commercialised to the benefit of the science and technology base and the wider UK economy.”
